The Feast of St. Dominic Savio was celebrated with great devotion and joy at Don Bosco School, Trasi on 5th July 2025 in the School Auditorium. The school community had gathered to honour the life and example of this young saint, known for his deep faith, purity and joyful spirit.
The highlight of the celebration was the Eucharistic Celebration, which was presided over by Rev. Fr. Arnold Mathias. In his homily, Fr. Arnold beautifully reflected on the life of St. Dominic Savio, emphasizing that although he lived a short life, he was a giant of holiness. Fr. Arnold invited all the students to take inspiration from Dominic Savio's deep love for God, his cheerful obedience, and his desire to become a saint even in his youth. He emphasized that purity of heart is reflected in simple living and genuine smile.
Fr. Arnold also stressed that sainthood is not a distant or impossible goal, but a path that can be walked through simple acts of love, kindness and daily faithfulness, as demonstrated by young Dominic Savio. He encouraged everyone to tread the path of holiness, as it’s a journey to be lived daily.
The liturgy was made vibrant and meaningful through active participation by the students, who took charge of the readings and choir. It was truly a wonderful way to begin the feast of the Saint who was a giant of Sanctity.
