Don Bosco School, Trasi celebrated mother nature in a special way as part of World Environment Day on 4th June 2025 in the school premises. The program commenced at 9:30 am in the School Auditorium with a prayer service, seeking divine blessings for the protection and preservation of nature. A series of engaging activities filled the day, including thought-provoking speeches and dance presented by students, highlighting the urgent need to care for the planet.
The highlight of the event was the speech given by Mr. Selva Murugan, the Forest Beat Officer, Aloor Branch, who graced as the Chief Guest for the program. He shared the importance of youth involvement in climate action and sustainable living. He made the students aware of the importance and role forests play in saving and nurturing nature around us. He added, “In the coming days, we all have to focus and work towards saving forests”. The Chief Guest was accompanied by Mr. Thimappa, The Forest Beat Officer, Aloor Branch and Fr. Maxim D’Souza, the Rector and Principal of the school on the dais.
To reinforce learning with action, the school also organized a tree plantation drive on the campus grounds, where students of the eco club along with Tr. Sulekha S, the Director of the Eco Club, planted saplings as a symbol of the school’s commitment to making the campus greener. The World Environment Day at Don Bosco School, Trasi was not only a day of celebration but a call to action, reminding all that caring for Mother Earth is a shared responsibility that begins with each one of us.
