Trasi, July 18, 2026: Reinforcing the belief that a child’s success is built upon a strong partnership between parents and teachers, Don Bosco School, Trasi, conducted its First Annual General Body Meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) on 18 July 2026 in the school auditorium. The meeting witnessed the enthusiastic participation from parents, teachers, and members of the school management, reflecting the institution’s unwavering commitment to fostering meaningful collaboration between home and school for the holistic development of every child.

The highlight of the programme was an inspiring and thought-provoking session by Rev. Fr. Sandesh Fernandes, Vice Rector and Vice Principal of Don Bosco School, Trasi, who served as the resource person for the meeting. Speaking on the theme, “Educating Together: The Power of Collaboration Between Home and School,” Fr. Sandesh emphasized that education is a shared responsibility and that parents and teachers play equally significant roles in shaping the character, values, and future of every child.

During his address, Fr. Sandesh explained that the home is a child’s first school, where values, culture, discipline, and good behaviour are first learned. He encouraged parents to become positive role models, reminding them that children naturally imitate the attitudes and actions of the adults around them. Stressing the importance of spending quality time with children, he urged parents to understand their children’s strengths and challenges, offer constant encouragement, and create an atmosphere of love, trust, and open communication within the family.

Highlighting the role of teachers, Fr. Sandesh noted that education extends far beyond academic achievement. He encouraged teachers to provide individual attention to every child by identifying and nurturing their unique talents and abilities. He further emphasized that teachers have a vital responsibility to instil moral values, discipline, and good character while maintaining regular communication with parents regarding each child’s academic progress, personal growth, and areas requiring additional support.

Speaking about the shared responsibilities of parents and teachers, he underlined the importance of regular dialogue, mutual trust, and collaborative decision-making in supporting every child’s overall development. He reminded the gathering that equal importance must be given to a child’s emotional, social, and moral well-being alongside academic excellence, thereby ensuring balanced and holistic growth.

The meeting was presided over by Rev. Fr. Maxim D’Souza, Rector and Principal of Don Bosco School, Trasi. In his presidential address, he warmly welcomed the parents, extending a special greeting to those who had recently become members of the Don Bosco family. He expressed his appreciation for the trust parents had placed in the institution and encouraged them to work hand in hand with the school to create a nurturing environment where every child can grow into a responsible, confident, and compassionate individual.
