Trasi, July 31 and August 1, 2026: Explorica 2K26, a vibrant two-day inter-house fest hosted by Don Bosco Junior College, Trasi, on 31 July and 1 August 2026, successfully brought together senior secondary students in a grand celebration of talent, teamwork, and youthful enthusiasm. The campus came alive with color, creativity, and unstoppable energy as the four houses—Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow—competed in a spirit of healthy rivalry and sportsmanship across 13 solo and group events.
The event featured a grand thematic unveiling through a massive banner unfurled from the first floor before the dignitaries entered the hall. The mega event commenced with a solemn prayer service, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp to invoke divine blessings.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by esteemed chief guests Dr. Deshel Levines Fernandes, Assistant Professor of Commerce at St. Aloysius Deemed to be University, Mangalore, and Rev. Dr. Fr. Edison Fernandes, Chair of Psychology of Education at Divyadaan: Salesian Institute of Philosophy, Nashik. In her inaugural address, Dr. Deshel Levines Fernandes inspired the gathering by encouraging students to transform every challenge into a unique opportunity while unlocking their hidden potential. Complementing this sentiment, Rev. Dr. Fr. Edison Fernandes urged the students to focus on building strong emotional bonds, maintaining a calm mind, and celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship over mere competition.
Students gave their absolute best, beautifully balancing individual brilliance with collective teamwork across diverse competitions, including high-octane Group Dances, witty Mad Ads, thought-provoking Street Plays, rapid-fire Pick and Speak rounds, an energetic Kite Flying competition, and a nostalgic Exhibition of Antique Items that offered an opportunity to appreciate the past. Each event allowed students to express original ideas with confidence and originality. Throughout the festival, evaluations were carried out with the utmost fairness and impartiality by the chief guests on the respective days, with Ms. Jyothi Simav Vaz joining Rev. Dr. Fr. Edison Fernandes to judge the final day’s events.
Following two days of intense competition, the fest concluded with a grand valedictory ceremony where Ms. Jyothi Simav Vaz, Assistant Professor at St. Aloysius Deemed to be University, Mangalore, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In her address, she highlighted that true education goes beyond books, encouraging students to nurture curiosity, maintain discipline, and develop strong problem-solving skills to navigate the future successfully. Amid soaring cheers, Green House emerged as the Overall Champions of Explorica 2K26, while Red House secured the Runner-Up position. The excitement reached its peak with the memorable crowning of Mr. Explorica, Dallan Mascarenhas, and Ms. Explorica, Sanvi R. Rao.
The flawless execution and smooth conduct of the entire programme was a testament to the collective efforts of the Senior Secondary Section staff, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes under the valuable guidance and support of Rector and Principal Fr. Maxim D’Souza, Vice Principal Fr. Sandesh Fernandes, and Administrator Fr. Arnold Mathias. Explorica 2K26 successfully transitioned into a memorable milestone that nurtured leadership, built lasting bonds, and fostered deep confidence among the students.
