Conducted from June 19 to June 30, 2026, the campaign sought to educate students about the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol, promote healthy lifestyle choices, and inspire them to become ambassadors of a drug-free society.
The awareness campaign commenced on June 19, 2026, with a powerful and thought-provoking mime performance presented by Class XII students. Through expressive acting and impactful visual storytelling, the students vividly portrayed the devastating effects of drug addiction on individuals, families, and society. The performance highlighted the physical, emotional, and social consequences of substance abuse while effectively conveying the message of saying “No to Drugs.” The outstanding presentation left a lasting impression on both students and staff, setting a positive tone for the entire campaign.
As part of the week-long programme, police officers from the Gangolli Police Station visited the school on June 24, 2026, to interact with the students of Classes XI and XII.During the informative session, the officers educated students about the various types of illegal drugs circulating in society and explained the serious legal, social, and health consequences associated with substance abuse. They encouraged students to remain vigilant, avoid harmful influences, and immediately report any suspicious drug-related activities to the authorities. The interactive session concluded with an anti-drug oath-taking ceremony, during which students solemnly pledged to stay away from drugs and actively contribute toward building a safe and drug-free society.
The awareness drive continued on June 25, 2026, with an enlightening session by Dr. Shashank S. Shetty, Consultant Psychiatrist, who addressed the students of Classes XI and XII. Speaking extensively on the physical, psychological, emotional, and social consequences of drug and alcohol addiction, Dr. Shetty explained how substance abuse severely affects an individual’s health, relationships, academic performance, and future. He encouraged students to adopt healthy coping mechanisms such as meditation, maintaining open communication with parents, teachers, and friends, and seeking timely guidance and professional support when facing emotional or personal challenges. His practical advice and engaging interaction helped students better understand the importance of making informed and responsible life choices.
As part of the concluding phase of the campaign, the school organized a special screening on June 30, 2026, of the live awareness programme conducted by the Bengaluru City Police on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The programme focused on spreading awareness about drug abuse, preventive measures, and the collective responsibility of society in creating a drug-free nation.
The live telecast featured another engaging mime performance highlighting the harmful effects of drug addiction and emphasizing the importance of leading a healthy, addiction-free life.
